Summary
Richard Dibble joined Watson, Farley &
Williams in 1988. Richard’s practice involves a broad range of ship
finance
and general commercial work. Richard has over 16 years experience
working on all types of structured ship finance projects (including tax
based and non taxed based deals), related derivative transactions, off
balance sheet financings and finance charter structures. As well as advising
major banks and institutional lenders Richard has advised international
shipowning companies in North America and Europe in relation to ship financing
transactions, construction projects and sales and acquisitions.
 
Recent Experience
- advising The Royal Bank of Scotland plc
and Bank of China in relation to a syndicated laon facility to Shanghai
Time Shipping Co Ltd to finance the acquisition of 3 handymax bulkers to
be registered on Chinese flag and for use in the Chinese domestic trade.
- advising a Canadian shipowner in relation
to the conversion by several Chinese contractors of a series of second
hand tankers into self unloading bulk carriers and the construction in
China of a floating offtake terminal barge and two self unloading transhipment
barges.
- advising a Dutch company in relation to
the UK tax lease financing of five product carriers in Korea.
- advising a UK bank in relation to the long
funding lease of twenty four vessels to an oil major.
- advising a London based Greek shipowner
in relation to the resale of a VLCC at Daewoo by way of sale and purchase
of the shares in the purchasing company.
- advising a UK cruise company in relation
to the refit of one of its passenger vessels in Malta.
