Summary

Raja Bose joined Watson, Farley & Williams in 1999 in London and has been practising in Singapore since 2000 where he is now a Partner heading the international litigation and arbitration team. He is dual qualified in the UK and Singapore and has been in legal practice for the last 15 years.  He specialises in international commercial arbitration and litigation with particular emphasis on trade and transport and offshore oil and gas disputes. In addition to his experience in cross-border multi-jurisdictional disputes in shipping, marine insurance, oil & gas, international sale of goods/trade finance and ship mortgage enforcements, he has more recently been involved in a number of high profile investor/state disputes and investment treaty arbitrations.
 
Recent Experience

  • Acting for Aibel AS of Norway in relation to a series of rapid adjudications before a tribunal in London in relation to disputes arising under an EPC contract for supply and installation of topside process modules on the FPSO ERRTRICK.
  • Acting for the Government of India in relation to a US$6 billion claim brought by GE and Bechtel under the Indo-Mauritius bilateral investment treaty in respect of the Dabhol Power Company.
  • Acting for Brunei Shell Petroleum in respect of a US$30 million claim against underwriters arising in connection with the slumping of a conductor installed in the Champion West oil field in Brunei.
  • Acting for Hallin Marine Systems of Singapore in an LCIA arbitration against Hyundai Heavy Industries in respect of disputes under a contract for provision of saturated diving services.
  • Acting for Global Process Systems of Dubai in London Commercial Court proceedings respect of their US$10 million claim against underwriters following damage to the jack-up rig enroute from Galveston to Malaysia.
  • Acting for HSH Nordbank AG of Hamburg in respect of its worldwide (Turkey, Sweden, USA, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong and China) fleet enforcement action against the Karahasan group of Turkey
