Summary
John Imhof is a partner in the International
Finance Group specializing in structured finance and project finance and
development. He has extensive experience in U.S. domestic and cross-border
financings of transportation, logistics and energy assets, including aircraft,
coal- and gas-fired power facilities, renewable energy facilities, ships
and shipping containers, and railroad rolling stock and related infrastructure.
John advises clients in connection with acquisition financings,
construction
financings, joint ventures, leveraged leases, syndicated loan and letter
of credit facilities, securitizations, restructurings and workouts. His
clients include leading banks, private equity firms and financial institutions.
John joined Watson, Farley & Williams LLP as a partner in 2003.
 
Recent Experience
John's recent experience includes advising:
- A major German private equity fund as project
sponsor in connection with a US$488 million loan facility provided by a
leading multinational development bank and a syndicate of commercial banks
to finance the construction and operation of a semi-submersible drilling
vessel for use in Brazilian territorial waters;
- Two major U.S. private equity funds as
to U.S. maritime issues in connection with a US$500 million joint venture
with U.S. Shipping Partners, L.P. to build deep-water tankers for the U.S.
domestic energy market;
- A major French bank in connection with
a €100 million leveraged lease facility for New Jersey Transit Corporation
to finance the acquisition of approximately fifty Bombardier multi-level
commuter rail passenger cars;
- A major U.S. private equity fund as to
leasing matters in connection with its US$745 million acquisition of Pitney
Bowes Credit Corporation, the equipment leasing subsidiary of Pitney Bowes,
Inc.;
- A major U.S. bank in connection with a
US$214 million leveraged lease financing of two McDonnell-Douglas MD11
aircraft for a major European airline;
- A major U.S. bank in connection with the
financing of a US$780 million coal-fired power facility; and
- A major German bank in connection with
the US$50 million lease financing of reefers and dry shipping containers
for a South American shipping company.
