Summary

Anna Soroko joined Watson, Farley & Williams in January 2006 and has over 20 years experience advising utilities, governments and oil and gas companies on a wide range of energy matters, including Gas Sales arrangements, the Cyprus Government on an energy import terminal, negotiation of a US$1bn LNG/Power project in Turkey, gas and oil pipeline transactions, project construction including the Great Yarmouth Power Plant and Teesport GasPort.

In 2007 Anna won The Lawyer, Infrastructure Team of the Year award for her work on the Teesside GasPort Project.  Anna is also extensively involved in the legal aspects of Carbon Capture & Storage.  She is also well known as a speaker at numerous international conferences.
 
Recent Experience

  • Leading team for all onshore aspects of Excelerate Energy's Teesport GasPort Project including land, regulatory, construction, commercial, finance and corporate issues
  • Advising on aspects of Judicial Review against GEMA relating to NTS capacity issues
  • Advising Clients on LNG and storage projects to proceed including changes to the law and responding to consultations
  • Advising Client on establishing and obtaining finance for new Oil & Gas company
  • Leading team on disposal of TXU Europe’s North Sea gas assets, including financing aspects thereof and negotiations on gas sales arrangements
  • Drafting and extensive negotiations for $1bn LNG/Power project in Turkey including sales, transportation and purchasing agreements, negotiations with international consortium, shipping arrangements, shareholder agreements and finance
  • Leading legal team for construction and development of the Great Yarmouth Power Plant including gas purchase, EPC, financing and Joint Venture Arrangements
