Summary
Andrew Nimmo is an associate in the International
Finance group. He specialises in asset, project and structured finance,
with particular emphasis on shipping and the offshore oil & gas sector.
Andrew trained and qualified in the firm's London office, and has
been on secondment with the Singapore office since 2004.
 
Recent Experience
- Acting for Citibank N.A. as lease arranger
and for a syndicate of international banks led by Mega International Commercial
Bank Co., Ltd. as agent and loan arranger in relation to the US$286,000,000
sale and leaseback of four 6,000 TEU containerships by Wan Hai Lines.
- Advising Global Process Systems in relation
to the conversion and operation of a mobile offshore production unit for
the Maleo joint venture in East Java, Indonesia. Included advising
on all aspects of the project structure, commercial project documentation
and finance documentation. The project is worth approximately US$60
million.
- Advising the Fred Olsen group in relation
to the internal restructuring of its drill ship and semi-submersible rig
fleet and crew management operations in connection with increasing its
operations in Singapore under the Approved International Shipping Enterprise
("AISE") scheme. Involved providing advice on the transaction
structure and various regulatory and shareholder issues as well as advising
on transfer of assets and the relevant finance documentation.
- Advising a syndicate of banks in relation
to pre and post-delivery loan facilities with an aggregate value in excess
of US$772 million to finance two newbuild LNG carriers. The facilities
were arranged by Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Woori Bank, The Bank
of Nova Scotia Asia Limited, Hana Bank, ING Bank N.V., Sumitomo Mitsui
Banking Corporation and United Overseas Bank Limited. The project was sponsored
by Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Line Corporation, STX Pan Ocean Co., Ltd.
and Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., Ltd.
- Advising a syndicate of international commercial
banks and an export credit agency in relation to the US$620.9 million financing
of a series of 8,600 teu container ships for charter to Hyundai Merchant
Marine Co., Ltd., Korea.
- Acting for a major Singapore bank in relation
to a US$106 million financing for a jack-up drillling rig to be constructed
in Singapore for a Norwegian owner.
- Acting for a Thai Plc in relation to a
US$250 million revolving credit facility to refinance and restructure the
financing of its existing fleet and to assist in acquiring new
vessels.
