WFW promotes 9 to the firm's partnership

Watson, Farley & Williams ("WFW"), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of 5 new partners in London as part of 9 promotions worldwide. The appointments take effect from 1 May 2008.

The promotions globally are broken down as follows:

The partner promotions are as follows:

LONDON

Chris Kilburn, International Corporate Group

Chris joined WFW as a trainee in September 1998 and qualified as a solicitor in 2000. He specialises in a broad range of corporate work, including strategic alliances (joint venture arrangements and private equity fundraisings), mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and commercial transactions.

Patrick Kirkby, International Shipping Finance Group

Patrick qualified in 1998 and joined WFW in November 2001. He advises on the structuring of major shipping finance, lease and credit-wrapped projects for a wide spectrum of vessel types, as well as the negotiation of ship and oil rig building contracts, revolving and term loan agreements and all aspects of ship purchase, leasing and chartering. Patrick has advised ship owners, international banking and insurance institutions and oil and gas companies in Europe as well as further afield.

Philip Mace, International Corporate Group

Philip qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and joined WFW in March 2007. Prior to joining the firm Philip gained considerable experience in the industry working for a variety of blue chip international oil & gas operating companies, latterly in a General Counsel role, and was previously a Senior Corporate Associate in the Allen & Overy Energy Group.

Sandra Sinclair-Hughes, International Project & Structured Finance Group

Sandra joined WFW in April 2005. She qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2002 and as an attorney in South Africa in 1994. She has over 10 years experience advising on a wide range of international matters. These include asset and project finance, project and commercial work in major offshore oil and gas, and LNG projects, and the related procurement contracts, shipbuilding and conversion contracts, lease and charter agreements and operating and maintenance contracts. Sandra has advised international corporations, including oil and gas companies, ship owners and shipbuilders and financial institutions.

Mark Tooke, International Corporate Group

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and joined WFW from the Department of Trade and Industry in February 2001. Mark has a varied commercial and corporate practice, encompassing acquisitions, domestic and international joint ventures, and the broad range of commercial arrangements including distribution, agency and licensing. Whilst at the DTI Mark spent three years advising the UK Patent Office and the DTI on the operational, regulatory and legislative aspects of intellectual property and Mark continues to have a particular focus on the corporate and commercial aspects of IP, including media and technology.

PARIS

Nathalie Cormery, International Tax Group

Nathalie qualified as an avocat in 1995 and joined WFW in 2003 as an associate in the International Tax Group. She specialises in international tax, including international tax structuring, corporate and asset finance, tonnage tax, mergers and acquisitions, LBO, debt and equity finance, corporate restructuring schemes and management incentive schemes. She has advised financial institutions, corporations and major shipping companies.

ROME

Elvezio Santarelli, International Corporate Group

Elvezio qualified to the Rome bar in 1998 and joined WFW in 2005. He specialises in corporate, project work and real estate with particular emphasis on renewable energy projects in Italy.

SINGAPORE

Damian Adams, International Corporate Group

Damian joined WFW as a trainee solicitor in 1997 in London and qualified in 1999. In 2000, Damian relocated to the firm's Singapore office. He specialises in corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, asset / business sale and purchase, structuring of joint ventures and shareholder arrangements and, more recently, advising potential issuers on admission to AIM. Damian's practice has an industry sector bias towards transport and natural resources.

BANGKOK

Ratthakarn Boonnua, International Litigation Group

Ratthakarn joined WFW in December 2002 as Senior Associate and is based in Bangkok. Ratthakarn qualified as a Thai lawyer in 1993. He handles general commercial disputes and has served as lead trial lawyer for almost 15 years in over 500 cases mainly involving international trade, commercial dispute, arbitration and employment. Ratthakarn is highly experienced in the maritime sector and is recommended by the Euromoney Legal Group as one of the best maritime lawyers in Thailand.
