Press Release
WFW expands leading German shipping finance practice with Partner hire in Hamburg office
22 February 2008

Watson, Farley & Williams LLP (WFW) is pleased to announce that Dr. Clemens Hillmer has joined its Hamburg office as a Partner. Clemens’ arrival further strengthens our local shipping finance team, and brings wider exposure of WFW’s Hamburg practice to German and international banks, KG Houses and other clients.

Hillmer is a well-known German lawyer who has specialised throughout his career in shipping finance and is an established name in the local market. His arrival sees the firm’s finance team in Hamburg expand to eight dedicated finance lawyers, four of whom specialise purely in shipping. He joins us from Ince & Co, Hamburg.

I am delighted to join WFW, and have the highest respect for them. The progress WFW has made since opening here is significant. I am looking forward to contributing to and developing the ship finance practice in Hamburg.” said Hillmer.

WFW’s Hamburg shipping finance team has been operating at full capacity and being able to attract such a high profile lawyer demonstrates the strength of the WFW brand in Germany. Clemens’ expertise in relation to maritime financing will be of huge benefit and I am confident he will prove an enormous asset to our operations” commented Maren Brandes, Head of WFW’s Shipping Finance team in Hamburg.
